Makhdoom's Quality Quest
Welcome To Makhdoom's World Of Quality
Total Quality Is a Journey Towards Continuous Improvement And Success. This journey started when the day my Creator created me with a heart, mind and soul. My journey has been like a sailors voyage through the seas - sometimes turbulent and sometime tranquil. It has not been a smooth sailing. My ship of life continues towards those distant shores - uncharted and unknown. I can see the horizon. But, what lies beyond the horizon? I do'nt know. I must push on to find out!
Come with me and let me guide you on this quality journey which may change the quality of your life.

"If even a little of my suffering I relate,
God has sent His Teachings to His creation on the surface of this world through His Messengers at different periods in our History. He gave to David (Daud) the 'Zabur' (the Psalms), and to
Moses (Musa) the 'Taurat'(the Hebrew Scriptures) and still later He gave 'Injil' (parts of the
New Testaments) to Jesus (Isa). Some centuries later God (Allah) gave His final Teaching in the Holy Qur'an through His last
Messenger, Muhammad, to be a guide to all people until the end of the world. What is the Truth? I am still searching and I am still seeking.
"If I die, longing for my native land,
What is Sindh? Where is Sindh? Who are Sindhis and where are they found? Who was Shah Bhitai? These are some of the reactions one gets when he starts talking about Sindh, for rightly so, not many people know about this beautiful land of beautiful
people, that once was an Empire and a cradle of all civilisations that existed about 6000 to 7000 years ago.
There is an inborn tendency in certain human beings to probe deeper into the mystery of man's existence and his relationship with his Creator.
This kind of inner urge often dies out in them, as they get involved in the mundane affairs that life in its wake forces upon them. For such persons certain pertinent and forceful questions remain unanswered - Who are we? What are we? From whence have we come? Whither we are bound? What relationship do we bear to our Creator? What is the nature of our Creator?
My deep and passionate involvement with Total Quality Management Group (TQMG) of the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and its activities took me on a wonderful
voyage of learning, sharing knowledge and ideas and a solemn understanding and appreciation
of the concepts, principles and practices of Total Quality Management. It gives me a total
satisfaction in sharing these ideas and concepts with those who are just embarking, or have
already embarked, on this extraordinary journey of making quality their way of life. Come with me and let me guide you on this quality journey which may change the quality of your life.
Poetry is language at its most beguiling and seductive while it is,
at the same time, elusive, seeking to mock one's desire for reduction,
for plain and available order. Hence, poetry is the art of using words
charged to their greatest intensity. Join me on this journey of love and passion with one of the most famous and respected poets of the East - Omar Khayyam.
Nuggets of wisdom and humour will empower you with positive thinking. I love quotes. I use them in my presentations and lectures, and sprinkle them through my books. I also draw on them for for personal inspiration and motivation. These quotations are not mine.
Dale Carnagie summed up my feelings when he wrote: "The ideas I stand for are not mine. I borrowed them from Socrates. I swiped them from Chesterfield. I stole them from Jesus. And I put them in a book. If you don't like their rules, whose would you use?"
I read somewhere sometime ago, what the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, advised his companions, "Accept wisdom (hikmah) even if it is found in the languages of the Polytheists." True. Nobody has a complete ownership of wisdom. Wisdom does not belong to just one particular race, society, religion or country. Wisdom is like a bird - free , fast, flying and flowing farther and further and higher and higher. Wisdom is the prouncement of the truth. Knowledge is a tree and its fruits are words. Though is like the sea and its pearls are wisdom. The journey is long and the time is short - I must push on towards that elusive goal of contentment, harmony and peace - peace with self and everything else around self. My relentless quest for quality - quality of life and quality of living - continues.
Today, in this world full of misery, sorrow, pain, suffering, ingratitude, and materialism, the spiritual influence of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi is being felt by people of diverse beliefs throughout the world. He is being recognised in the Western countries, as he has been for last seven centuries in
the Middle East, Africa and Asia, as one of the greatest literary and spiritual figures of all time. Rumi, without doubt, is the most eminent Sufi poet whom Persia has ever produced, while his momentous mystical work, Mathnawi, deserves to rank amongst the greatest poems of all times.
Written accounts of the early history of Singapore are sketchy and the names used to refer to the
country are varied. In the third century, a Chinese account gave reference to Singapore as
Pu-luo-chung, or "island at the end of a peninsula". In 1320, however, the Mongol court sent a
mission to a place called Long Yamen (Dragon's Tooth Strait) to get elephants. This probably
referred to Keppel Harbour. Singapore is where I have built my new home - a tiny island state, merely a dot on the map of the world.
Poetry is an orphan of silence. The words never quite equal
the experience behind them. We suppose that every poet, in
order to be recognised has to have an individual style and tone
and personality. Here you will find pages on Urdu poetry and the classical English poetry.
Transport is an important element of a nation's economy and its civilized way of life. It is part of the society. Almost everybody depends on it, one way or another. It must, therefore, be safe, comfortable, effective and efficient.
Logistics is about 'movement' - movement of people and goods. Maritime transport is a mode of transport through which about 85 per cent of the world's trade is carried out.
ISM ( International Safety Management ) Code means the International Management Code for the
Safe operation of ships and for Pollution Prevention. ISM Code aims to ensure safety at sea, prevention
of human injury or loss of life, and avoidance of damage to the environment, particularly the marine
environment, and to the property.
Why is ISO 9000 so hot? The ISO 9000 logic means that jobs, jobs, jobs are the major public-policy issues in the 1990s.
Economic competitiveness has displaced military competitiveness. Competitiveness = Quality. In South East Asia, economic growth is strong. ISO 9000 is an internationally accepted standard for accessing markets, ensuring quality products, and building trust among trade partners.
Go, take a trip alone after sunset to the countryside - away from the hustle and bustle of the city life - where there is no jungle of concrete, but wide open spaces, fields, gardens and rivulets flowing by, and a clear sky above you.
You will see your faithful friends in the sky - shining and twinkling, smiling and shimmering - and you will feel yourself alone no more!
Oh Lord! My boat is so small and the sea so huge, rough and turbulent. I am the captain of my boat, but you are my Master. Take care of my tiny boat and guide me. And, many a seafarer has been guided by that Almighty Captain.
Friendship is a noble institution. Friends make the life worth living. They are not quite my friends, but I know them better than many who are. They aren't related to me, but they might as well be. They are the close friends of my close friends, my thoughts, my ideas and my dreams and aspirations.
